Abstract. <\/strong>What makes a school effective? In particular, what are the characteristics of effective schools as perceived by researchers? Research studies (e.g., Purkey and Smith, 1983; Heck, Larsen and Marcoulides, 1990; Scheurich and Skrla, 2003) on effective schools have yielded lists of characteristics on effective schools. However the characteristics are not absolute, but are directly related to the social-cultural framework and the values that reflect the school, the educational staff, the students and the general social-economical frame of the school. The critical questions to be addressed in this study are: 1.The effective school, occupying by effective teachers is a utopia or can be accomplished? 2. Which are the key factors that affect effectiveness of a school? 3. How the finding of studies for effective schools can be adapted to the demands and needs of each school? In these questions the present article tries to give answers .<\/p>\n

This paper focuses on the presumptions and conceptions regarding the synergetic philosophy of education, as well as on its projections on the synergetic school pedagogy: class-and-lesson-based system, methodology of education, school curriculum and textbooks, subjects. OBJECTS OF THE NARRATIVE PEDAGOGY <\/strong>IN THE CONTEXT OF THE IDEA <\/strong>FOR THE PEDAGOGICAL PHENOMENON<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract. <\/strong>The article focuses on various narrative pedagogical texts. They concern the different components of the pedagogical phenomenon, namely: pedagogical subjects, goal, contents, principles, methods, results and organizational forms as well as the context into which they function \u2013 the institutions and the social environment. Three models of the pedagogical phenomenon are being offered, all three based on narrative texts: abstract, specific and dynamic. This is the way to support the idea of these models of the pedagogical phenomenon as the necessary \u201cprism\u201d that makes narrative pedagogical texts better comprehensible for the reader.<\/p>\n

ANALYSIS OF NATIONAL STANDARDS AND EDUCATIONAL <\/strong>PROGRAMS IN NATURAL SCIENCES IN RELATION TO THE <\/strong>COMPETENCE APPROACH IN PISA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abstract. <\/strong>The results of the Bulgarian students from the international evaluation survey PISA and the opportunities to build core competencies and develop scientific literacy depend largely on legal documentation that determines the educational content and the technology of conducting the learning process. In this respect, the most important are the State Educational Requirements for Educational Content. Therefore, the present study analyses not only the PISA results, but also the correlation between the requirements of PISA and the requirements of the normative documents related to science education in Bulgarian schools. This will contribute to improving the quality of education in science, synchronizing it with the modern requirements and providing opportunities for realization of Bulgarian students on the international labor market.
